Report: Suspected 'spy' Ilan Grapel to be released on Tuesday
An Egyptian source told the London based al-Hayat newspaper that Cairo and Washington were working towards the release of Israeli-US citizen Ilan Grapel who was arrested in Egypt on suspected espionage charges.
According to the source, US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is set to visit Egypt on Tuesday and is supposed to "take Grapel with him at the end of his visit". The same source said that this was due to the fact that "what Grapel did during the revolution was not considered spying and so it makes sense to release him for economic profit to Egypt."
