Al-Hayat: German mediator never arrived in Egypt
Sources in Gaza and Egypt deny the German mediator Gerhard Conrad ever arrived to Cairo earlier this week. An Egyptian source told the London-based al-Hayat newspaper that the German mediator no longer plays a part in the prisoner-exchange negotiations, adding he is not expected him to return to Cairo.
On Tuesday, Palestinian officials declared the reports claiming the mediator had arrived in Egypt were misleading and that nothing has changed in regards to the talks. (Elior Levy)
