President Peres to Prof. Shechtman: I salute you

President Shimon Peres congratulated Prof. Daniel Shechtman for winning the 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

"I salute you, you gave the people of Israel a wonderful gift," Peres told Shechtman in a phone conversation. "This is a great day for Haifa, a great day for the Technion. God bless all of us and thank you very much for your gift." (Ahiya Raved)
