Turkey slams Sarkozy over Armenian remarks

French President Nicolas Sarkozy would do better to address the problems of the French rather than play the historian on the issue of the Armenian "genocide", said Turkish Minister for European Affairs Egemen Bagis on Friday, in reaction to earlier statements by Mr. Sarkozy.
"It would be better for if Mr. Sarkozy abandons the role of the historian and plan for the future of the European Union. Sarkozy has probably adopted this approach after being frightened by the latest poll results in France," Bagis was quoted as saying by the Anatolia news agency during a visit to Sarajevo. (AFP)
