Mizrahi music to rock Kremlin

Israeli singer Shlomi Saranga to perform at Moscow Jewish community's award ceremony in presence of senior Russian government officials

After conquering the Caesarea amphitheater, Israel's Mizrahi music is on its way to rock Moscow.

Israeli singer Shlomi Saranga has been selected to perform at the Jewish community's annual award ceremony, scheduled to be held in December at the Kremlin.

During the ceremony, awards are handed out in the fields of journalism, culture and charity. The event is expected to be attended by senior Russian government officials.

Saranga will perform on the same stage with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, which includes 70 musicians.

"I'm very happy and excited," says Saranga. "I'm sure it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This is quite a musical challenge, and it will be very interesting working with 70 Russian musicians."
