French Ambassador to Israel Christophe Bigot will visit Noam and Aviva Shalit at their protest tent outside the prime minister's residence in Jerusalem on Wednesday, following the cabinet's approval of a prisoner exchange deal securing their son Gilad's release from Hamas captivity.
Gilad Shalit has a French citizenship. His father Noam spoke to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who expressed his hope that the deal between Israel and Hamas would be materialized. (Ronen Medzini)
