Suspect arrested in Rabin monument defacement

The suspect in the defacement of the monument in memory of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin is a 27-year-old man from Givat Shmuel. During his interrogation he claimed that the motive for his actions was ideological.
A source within the Tel Aviv Municipality said earlier that the suspect had lost his parents in a terror attack. The young man poured paint over the memorial and spray painted a call for the release of murderer Yigal Amir. (Yoav Malka)
