Arab League gives Syria two week ultimatum

None

The Arab League has given Syria a two week ultimatum in which it demands that the Damascus government stand by the commitments it made to the Arab League and launch dialogue in order to end the violent repression against anti-regime protestors.

The league's secretary general said that if Syria failed to stand by its commitments and would not allow a visit from a delegation that would deliberate over steps needed for the democratic process then the Arab League reserves the right to suspend Syria from the organization. (Roi Kais)
