Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a letter to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in terrorist attacks, explaining his decision to release 1,027 terrorists in exchange for kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit.
"As a bereaved brother, I understand your pain. In my many deliberations throughout the negotiations, you were on my thoughts the whole time. My decision to bring Gilad home was affected by the commitment of Israel's prime minister to bring back a soldier sent on the State's behalf to defend its citizens," Netanyahu wrote.
