Gilad Shalit,
the IDF soldier who returned home
on Tuesday after more than five years in Hamas captivity, is undergoing extensive medical examinations after he felt ill on his way to the Tel Nof air base, where he reunited with his family.
IDF medical teams decided that despite the temporary setback, Shalit will fly home to Mitzpe Hila later Tuesday afternoon.
In the videos of Shalit that have been made available so far, he is seen walking but is very thin and pale. In one video, he is seen having trouble going down a staircase.
Earlier at the Kerem Shalom crossing where Shalit entered Israel, IDF Spokesperson Yoav Mordechai said that after preliminary medical examinations, Shalit was in a "good and stable condition".
