Ban Ki-Moon 'delighted' to learn of Shalit's release

UN chief Ban Ki-Moon was "delighted" to learn Tuesday about the release of Gilad Shalit by Hamas as part of the swap deal releasing 1,027 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the Israeli soldier.
"The Secretary-General welcomes the exchange of prisoners and considers the release of today as a significant humanitarian advancement," said his spokesman Martin Nesirky. (AFP)
