Diskin: When Abbas departs, relations will deteriorate

Former Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin warned that "the day (Palestinian President) Mahmoud Abbas leaves, the relationship between Israelis and Palestinians will begin to deteriorate like a snowball. The problem in the Fatah and the (Palestinian) Authority is that Abbas has no natural heir."
Speaking in front of student in southern Israel, Diskin expressed his reservations about exchanging prisoners, saying "these deals, one after the other, from Rabin to Sharon, are not good for the State of Israel; whether it's good for the public is a different question." (Ilana Curiel)
