Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Wednesday left on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the 15 members of the Security Council, in an attempt to persuade the local government not to support the Palestinian bid to join as a member of the United Nations.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also paid a visit to the Balkan country a few weeks ago. The Palestinians need the support of nine Security Council members in order for their bid to be approved. (Ronen Medzini)
