Chief of Staff Maj.-Gen. Benny Gantz commented on the release of captive soldier Gilad Shalit from Hamas captivity, saying that "when the government of Israel decided to implement the deal, it took into account the security establishment's recommendations, but was also aware of the price and the possible security challenges that might arise in the future.'
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of an IDF officers course, Gantz wished Shalit "days of happiness." (Ilana Curiel)
