High Court rejects Grapel deal petitions

The High Court on Wednesday rejected petitions filed against the Grapel prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Egypt. The judges ruled that "it wasn't fitting for the court to intervene in a decision made by one who has all the political and security information in his hands and is also the one responsible for the consequences."
The judges noted that in decisions like this the government had greater discretionary powers while the High Court's jurisdiction was extremely limited and reserved for exceptional circumstances. (Aviad Glickman)
