The officers are expected to meet with Gilad in the coming days and question him about the circumstances surrounding his abduction and imprisonment. In accordance with orders from the medical team that is looking after the freed solider, the questioning is to be of a sensitive nature.

The debriefing is to be conducted over multiple sessions, some of which will take place at his home in Mitzpe Hila while others are to be held at a clinic, where he will undergo medical examinations.

Since his return last week, Gilad has been making efforts to adjust to life at home. He has taken walks, a bicycle ride and a trip to the beach, and spent time with friends outside his home. Gilad's freedom was secured through a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas, in which Israel was required to free 1,027 Palestinian prisoners.
