UN airlifting supplies to Turkish quake victims

The UN refugee agency launched emergency airlifts Friday bringing supplies to thousands of survivors left homeless after the massive earthquake that struck eastern Turkey.
Agency spokesman Adrian Edward said the first of four daily UN airlifts are going to the eastern city of Erzurum, from where trucks would bring the supplies to the provincial capital of Van, where the refugee agency has been working since 1995. (AP)
