Magnitude 6.9 quake shakes buildings in Peru capital

A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck southern Peru on Friday, the USGS said.

 

The quake, which was centered 31 miles (50 km) south of the coastal city Ica, shook buildings in Peru's capital Lima, according to Reuters witnesses. There was no immediate warning of a tsunami. (Reuters)
