Original excuse: A taxi driver of about 50 refused to undergo a breathalyzer test after police suspected she was driving under the influence of alcohol, telling the officers who pulled her over she was a…chemist.
The strange encounter between the woman and the police took place near the Glilot Interchange, after officers pulled her over for speeding. The police noticed a powerful smell of alcohol coming from the woman’s mouth and asked her to undergo a breathalyzer test.

However, the woman refused to submit to the test, telling the surprised officers: “I’m a chemist. I’ll do the test tomorrow in Jerusalem.”
The odd explanation did not help the driver, whose license was revoked on the spot. She is now expected to have her day in court. The woman’s taxi was confiscated for 30 days.
At the time of the incident, a passenger was sitting at the backseat and police had to call in another cab for him so he can continue on his way.
Police officials stressed that refusing to take a breathalyzer test is the same as admitting that one is intoxicated.
