2 terrorists killed in IDF strike near Rafah

An Air Force aircraft targeted a terrorist cell, most likely of the Islamic Jihad, east of Rafah near a deserted airport in Dahaniyeh on Saturday. Initial reports suggest that two terrorists were killed and one was injured.

In total some 20 rockets and mortar shells were fired at south Israel on Saturday. Several people were injured, one of whom sustained moderate wounds.

Al-Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad's military wing said that the IAF attacked one of its cells using at least two rockets.

Gaza's emergency services spokesman Adham Abu Salmia said that two Palestinians, Hamed Jazar and Sami Abu Sabet, were killed and one was seriously injured in the attack. He added that the victims were taken to a hospital in Rafah.

The Islamic Jihad's military wing claimed responsibility for the majority of Saturday's rocket attacks.

The IDF said that an IAF aircraft attacked a terrorist cell in the southern Gaza Strip which fired at Israeli territory.

"The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to hurt Israeli civilians and will continue acting resolutely against any element terrorizing Israel. The Hamas terrorist organization is held accountable."

Saturday's escalation was prompted by an IAF strike in Gaza which saw five Islamic Jihad terrorists killed. The terror cell had fired a Grad rocket at Be'er Tuvia on Wednesday night and was ready to mount another attack.
