Leftist group petitions High Court over settlement protest
Left wing activists from the Solidarity movement have petitioned the High Court on Monday demanding that they be allowed to hold a protest on Friday within the Anatot settlement. Among the petitioners are Professor Zeev Sternhell and former Foreign Ministry Director General Alon Liel.
Last month the Anatot residents attacked left wing activists in two separate incidents on and near the settlement. After the incident, the Solidarity movement sought to hold a protest against the settlers' violence. Police rejected their request over fears of further violence. (Aviad Glickman)
