Abbas, Hamas praise UNESCO membership

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas praised UNESCO's decision to grant the Palestinian Authority full membership.
Hamas also addressed the news, saying: "It's an important step which will help preserve the Palestinian heritage in its battle against Israeli impingement in holy places, particularly in Al-Aqsa Mosque and in Jerusalem." (Elior Levy and News Agencies)
