PM urges Histadrut to cancel strike

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the Histradrut labor federation to cancel the strike it has announced for Monday. Netanyahu opened Sunday's government meeting by saying that "We must reach a solution that won't hurt Israel's economy at a time that markets around the world are tumbling."

 

Government services that are expected to go on strike on Monday include public universities, transportation, banks and hospitals. (Ronen Mezini)
