Magnitude 6.8 quake hits southern Japan, no tsunami

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.8 hit Japan's southern island of Okinawa at around noon on Tuesday (0300 GMT), but there was no threat of tsunami, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

 

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage. (Reuters)
