Western powers in favor of harsher sanctions on Iran

The US, UK, Germany and France have announced their support for the imposition of harsher sanctions on Iran due the latest IAEA report on the Islamic Republic's nuclear capabilities.

A US State Department official said Wednesday that US and its "partners" have already engineered "the most aggressive, isolating, and debilitating sanctions" to be imposed on Iran. France and the UK have made a joint announcement calling for increased pressure on the Islamic Republic, if it does not participate in negotiations on the issue. (News Agencies)
