Friend of Katsav: His spirit is broken
A good friend of former President Moshe Katsav addressed the Supreme Court's decision to not overturn the ruling made by Tel Aviv District Court, sentencing Katav to seven years in jail on Thursday.
"It's improper and undignified for him to be behind bars," said David Motai. "Katav said he was angry the court didn't accept his claims. But his spirit is broken… I think he could take his own life even before going to prison." However Motai added that Katsav "is a stong man. He has a supporting and warm family all around him and they won't let him harm himself." (Yael Ilani)
