A provincial official in Afghanistan's eastern Langhman province says a roadside bomb has killed six civilians.
Faizanullah Patan, a spokesman for the provincial governor, said Saturday's explosion completely destroyed the car in which the six victims, five men and a woman, were travelling. He said it occurred just outside Mehterlam, the capital of Langhman. In southern Afghanistan's Nimroz province, gunmen on Saturday shot and killed a village elder in the Kash Rod district, regional chief Hashim Norizia said. (AP)
