Knesset okays bill that limits contributions to nonprofit groups
None
The Knesset's Constitution, Law and Justice Committee has approved the law proposal that restricts contributions made by global bodies to nonprofit organizations. If the government passes the law, entities like the EU and the UN will only be able to donate up to NIS 20,000 annually to each organization.
Eleven ministers voted in favor of the bill, while five voted against it. Two ministers abstained. Ministers Benny Begin, Dan Meridor and Michael Eitan appealed the decision. (Attila Somfalvi)
