French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe warned Monday that any military action against Iran over its nuclear program would have devastating effects.
Following a meeting of EU foreign ministers, Juppe said that Iran's aspiration to acquire nuclear weapons, highlighted by a report released by the IAEA last week, represented "a major threat to regional stability and world stability." However, he added, "a military intervention would … lead us down an uncontrollable spiral." (AFP)
