Jordanian Embassy in Damascus attacked

None

A Jordanian official says his country's embassy in Damascus was attacked after Jordan's king criticized the Syrian president's violent crackdown on eight months of protests.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Kayed says about 100 demonstrators gathered outside the embassy on Monday after King Abdullah II told the BBC that Bashar Assad should step down. (AP)
