Poverty report: Number of poor drops, but situation remains bleak

Welfare and Social Services Minister Moshe Kahlon and National Insurance Institute Director General Esther Dominissini said Thursday that the 2010 poverty report shows a drop in the number of poor children in Israel.

Kahlon noted, however, that 20% of the families in Israel face a "bleak situation" and a third of the children in the country still live in poverty. (Omri Efraim)
