Opposition Chairwoman Tzipi Livni slammed Samaria Chief Rabbi Elyakim Levanon over his comments on women singing in the military ceremonies, saying that "it took women years to be promoted to senior positions in the army, and now there are attempts to draw them back."
Levanon said last week that 'troops will die rather than listen to women,' adding that many rabbis would order their students to walk out of these events, "even if they are faced by a firing squad for doing so." (Attila Somfalvi)
