Fatah official: Abbas determined to see Fayyad as next PM

A Fatah official questioned reports suggesting that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will agree to withdraw the candidacy of Prime Minister Salam Fayyad for another term.
Abbas is slated to discuss Palestinian elections with Hamas Politburo chief Khaled Mashaal in Cairo later on Thursday. Another Fatah official said the meeting will be strictly formal. (Elior Levy)
