5 Palestinian children perish in West Bank fire

House in Tulkarem-adjacent village catches on fire leaving five children dead, four adults injured

Five Palestinian children died and four other people were injured in a residential fire in a Palestinian village near Tulkarem ,Palestinian security sources reported on Saturday.
The casualties are all members of the same family.

Palestinian police and firefighters teams, as well as Red Crescent paramedics, were called to the village of Qafin, which is adjacent to Tulkarem, in the early hours of Saturday morning, where they battled the blaze.
After getting the flames under control, they discovered that five of the family's children – three boys and two girls, ages 5-12 – had perished.
The children's parents, their older brother and his wife were injured while trying to get the children out of the burning house.
Initial investigation into the cause of the fire suggests that candles were left lit in the children's' room due to a power outage.
The Palestinian inquiry into the fire is ongoing.
