The German government has complied with the Claims Conference demands and will broaden the scope of eligibility for German National Insurance pensions to Ghetto survivors. According to the decision, Jews who were not considered to be "forced labor" workers in the ghettos will receive the German pensions as well as a one time 2,000 euro payout.
The time limit on submitting applications for payments has also been removed. (Omri Efraim)
