Turkish PM Erdogan released from hospital

State-run television says Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has left the hospital following successful abdominal surgery.

TRT television says the 57-year-old left the hospital in Istanbul on Tuesday after undergoing laparoscopic surgery on Saturday. Erdogan's office says the prime minister will rest before returning to his office. He is expected to meet with US Vice President Joe Biden in Turkey on Friday. (AP)
