Arab League chief to meet EU foreign ministers

The head of the Arab League will attend a meeting of European Union foreign ministers in Brussels on Thursday to discuss the situation in Syria, France said on Wednesday.

EU governments agreed on Monday to impose extra financial sanctions on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's government over a crackdown on pro-democracy protests and will adopt them at Thursday's regular meeting of foreign ministers. (Reuters)
