Kyrgyzstan's ruling coalition collapses

Kyrgyzstan's fragile ruling coalition has collapsed one day after a new president took office, in a development that will lead to a new round of frenetic bargaining in the Central Asian nation's fractious parliament.

The Social Democratic Party announced Friday it is quitting the four-party coalition because of disagreements with its partners on judicial, political and economic reforms. The fall of the coalition had long been expected amid rumored divisions within the five parties in parliament. (AP)
