Peres: Attempts to strike democracy endanger it
President Shimon Peres took the part of Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch and during a commemoration ceremony for former Prime Minister Ben Gurion said: "David Ben Gurion believed that there were no replacements for the democratic system."
According to Peres: "Ben Gurion believed in the separation of power. Politicians don't judge and judges don't deal in politics. An attempt to strike out against democracy endangers it." (Ilan Curiel)
