Several United Nations peacekeepers were wounded when an explosion struck their patrol in southern Lebanon on Friday, a witness and security sources said.

They said the blast hit a vehicle carrying French members of the UNIFIL peacekeeping contingent in the city of Tyre. A Reuters reporter saw at least six wounded people. Security sources said seven people were wounded in total, including two passersby, adding they were mostly lightly wounded. (Reuters)
