Air France to fly from TA to Nice

New route to include three weekly direct flights from Israel to French Riviera, starting April 2012

Air France will begin offering direct flights from Tel Aviv to Nice, starting April 2012.

The new route will include three weekly flights – on Sundays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flights will be operated on Airbus A319 or A320 aircraft, which include 178 seats.

This is part of the French carrier's strategic plan to reinforce internal routes in France while adding news ones. It plans to operate 1,200 weekly flights from Nice, Marseille, Bordeaux and Toulouse to all over the world, and launch more than 50 new routes to vacation destinations in France and the Mediterranean Basin next year.

Nice is located in the center of the French Riviera. It is the sixth largest city in France and serves as an important tourist center which attracts masses of visitors, particularly in the summer.

The city also serves as an important transport hub for the many tourists arriving in the Riviera. In addition to its famous beaches, Nice offers other attractions such as Promenade des Anglais, the port and the old city.

"We welcome the unique opportunity to offer the Israeli audience a direct route to Nice, one of the most attractive and popular places in the French Riviera," said Vivian Del Mas, Air France-KLM's general manager in Israel.
