Palestine raises flag at UNESCO

A Palestinian flag was raised at the headquarters of the UN cultural agency in Paris, a symbolic boost to the Palestinians' push for an independent state.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was present for the flag-raising Tuesday. He will later meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy. (AP and Elior Levy)
