Relatives of Carmel fire victims shun ceremony

The widow of a Prison Service cadet who died in the Carmel fire and a man who lost his son to the blaze said they would not be attending the state memorial ceremony in honor of the victims, scheduled for Monday.

"I refuse to sit with officers from Israel Police and the Prison Service who did not take responsibility for the disaster," said the father, Amram Biton, "They have no values." (Raanan Ben-Zur)
