Shas appeals Coalition's support for 'Tzohar bill'

Minister of Religious Services Yakov Margi (Shas) has filed an appeal with the government against the Coalition's support for a bill that proposes to allow couples to register for marriage in any rabbinate in the country, and a similar bill that proposes to authorize any certified rabbi to perform marriage ceremonies.
Margi told Ynet that he supports an alternative law proposal, which calls for the establishment of a national marriage registration system. (Kobi Nahshoni)
