Supreme Court president 'afraid' for Israel's legislative system

Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch has expressed concern over the scant progress that Israel has made in the arena of human rights legislation over the past two decades.

"We stand at a crossroads," Beinisch said in a speech at Herzliya's Interdisciplinary Center. "I believe that what has been accomplished won't be lost, but the question is, how much progress will we make? I am scared for the legislative system…The events of the past year have shown that there's a need for basic law on social rights." (Boaz Fyler)
