Report: Kidnapped Iranian engineers are Revolutionary Guard operatives

The Iranian news network Fars TV reported that the five Iranian engineers who were kidnapped on Wednesday in Syria are safe and sound.

Meanwhile, opposition sites outside the Islamic Republic said that the captives are Revolutionary Guard operatives and not electrical engineers, as claimed in official reports. The reformist newspaper Mihan cited a political source in Syria as saying that President Bashar Assad's opponents were behind the abduction. (Dudi Cohen)
