White House condemns bombings in Iraq

The White House has condemned the deadly bombings in Iraq, and says such attempts to derail progress in the country will fail.
In a statement, press secretary Jay Carney says Iraqi security forces have shown they are up to the task of responding. The attacks killed at least 69 people across Baghdad Thursday in the wake of the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq. (AP)
