Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a government meeting on the exclusion of women that "the public sphere is safe and open to everyone. There is no place within it for hostility and discrimination. The police are doing and will do everything against anyone who raises a hand or spits."
Defense Minister Ehud Barak addressed the issue as well, saying that the escalated incidence of hostility against women is alarming. "All of the state's law enforcement agencies should make efforts to put a stop to it," he said. (Omri Efraim)
