Yishai: Discussion on women's exclusion exaggerated
Interior Minister and Shas Chairman Eli Yishai told Ynet he was strongly against the humiliation and exclusion of women but also claimed that public preoccupation with the matter is exaggerated.
Yishai compared the segregation of women and men on public transport to gender separation in soccer. "Why do men and women not play together in Beitar Jerusalem, Hapoel Tel Aviv or Maccabi Tel Aviv?," he said. "One can say soccer also excludes women." (Attila Somfalvi)
