Iran: US citizens charged with espionage
An indictment was filed in Iran against an Iranian-born US citizen suspected of spying for the CIA, the Fars news agency reported Tuesday.
According to the report, the defendant said at the beginning of the trial that he was led astray by the CIA. He claimed that his mission was to infiltrate the Iranian intelligence service and serve as a CIA source but stressed he had no intention of harming Iran. (Dudi Cohen)
